4x4 Access Update
The 4x4 route to the upper Acatenango basecamp is closed by local authorities, with no confirmed reopening date or guarantee that it will reopen. Book our overnight hike to secure your preferred date. If official access is restored before your tour, we will guarantee the option to switch to 4x4 after payment of the price difference. If it remains closed, your hiking reservation continues under our standard booking and cancellation policies. Dates from November through May sell quickly.

PORTER OPTION

Acatenango is demanding. Your experience doesn’t have to be.
Porter is included one way, with a 15 pounds maximum per bag.
Anything additional to 15 pounds has a 200 quetzales charge, you can only ad extra 20 pounds per bag for a total of 35 pounds per barg.
Additional porter service from the camp to the 4x4 vehicle has a $30 surcharge.
4×4 COLLECTIVE
TRANSPORT
Each vehicle carries multiple guests. For safety and fairness, seating is rotated during the ride: part of the group sits inside the cabin, while others ride in the open back of the truck. On the return journey, positions are switched so everyone shares the experience equally. This rotation is standard practice and applies to all guests on the collective tour.
If guaranteed cabin seating is required, a $100 per person fee will be added to your bill.
